Oh, I'm sorry. You did everything you could. I'm sure the owners appreciate your caring.

I am so sorry. You did the right thing finding and telling the owners, they will have some peace from knowing what happened and they won't always wonder.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. It could've happened to anyone, and you really did your best. And rather than Oliver dying alone under a shed or something, he was in a hospital where help could be administered and his owner there. Thank you for caring.

I am soo sorry that you are going through this. Understand that there was no way to avoid it. Things like this do happen. About six years ago I hit and killed a cat while driving. It ran out from nowhere and it was horrible. From that point on, I became a vegetarian. Something changed inside me about eating meat.

Try to take something like this horrible experience and make it into something good. Donate some food to a local shelter, or whatever it is you can do to honor the memory of the cat.

Just make sure to remember that it was an accident. There is no fault. Bad things happen sometimes. My prayers and well wishes are with you as you have so often helped me with your kind words. Take care...

This is such a great idea. Thanks.

That is so very sad to hear about Oliver but just as heart breaking to know what you have gone through.

You could not have done anymore and I am sure Oliver's owners appreciated that.

I hope what I am about to do is not in bad taste but a friend of mine has recently bought a kitten, she does not pick him up until another week but I am sure the photo will make you smile lph.

I'm so sorry to hear he didn't make. I do like the idea of making a donation to a shelter or rescue in his name.

So sorry, LPH. I know you probably feel guilty, but it was not your fault and you did everything you could to help.

I'm splitting the vet bill with the owners, and making a donation in his memory to the shelter we adopted Lyra from. I've given the owners the link as well, and told them that they are welcome there at any time to just hang out and socialize with the cats, whether they're interested in adopting one at some point or not.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and moral support!

    Wow

LPH, I have so much respect for you. {{{HUG}}} I know how hard this has been. You have done everything to make things right for both animal and human. The beauty within you shines brightly.
