Thumbs up Ahhhhh.......When it is good

After a couple of days recovering from a summer cold and getting through the "take a deep breath and cough up pieces of your lungs for the next half hour" phase of recovery I had a picture perfect ride today.

Remarkably the temperature was in the mid 80's, the relative humidity was only about 40% and there was no wind. After 4 days of sleeping and taking it easy and gulping cough medicine, I woke up feeling perky and energized and eager to ride.

All I can say is that when the riding is good in Texas, it is very very good and when it is bad, it is horrid.

At 38 miles in 2 hours 15 minutes and an excellent iced coffee at mile 28, today it wasvery, very good.

I hope I'm there soon. Have a terrible cold that's pounding my chest, and we have beautiful weather today and the next 5, but no riding for me. These things always go to my lungs and hang on for months. I figure it's best to take it easy and heal completely rather than have it nag me through Thanksgiving. Sounds like a wonderful ride!

Thanks for the little piece of hope. Just a couple more days of coughing and then a beautiful bike ride. Sounds like a plan!
