I still don't see where she said that.
But anyway, if you do choose to set your brakes up with less travel, remember that wheels do expand more than you'd think when they heat up during use. You can set your brakes up nice and tight the way you like them in the garage, only to find that they're rubbing going up that steep hill.

Also, if hand strength is an issue, use one hand to compress the caliper while you turn the adjuster a quarter turn at a time. Easier than trying to compress the caliper by turning the adjuster.
