I found my ipod this morning....in the wash.

After the wash cycle was complete.

Oh, man, bad week for iPods.

Hope you both get new and better ones for the holidays!

I just ordered my son a new iPod for Christmas since his also just went through the wash. I had engraved on it: "Dry Clean Only"

My son washed his nano AND dried it, and it eventually started working again.

Most electronics will survive water, provided current's not flowing at the time. The important thing is to let it dry. Bone dry. Take the battery out and let it air. Depending on the complexity of the circuitry, this could take a couple days. If you can safely remove the cover of the item, do it.

I'm not sure how corrosive washing detergent is, but it may be that exposure to this will eventually degrade the electronics (over a period of months/years). In any case, drying the item out will give you an opportunity to retrieve any data from it.

Yeah, kind of think that it is dead. I took it apart to let it dry but it still remains silent. It is very, very possible that it was playing when I shoved it in there. Maybe "Tiny Bubbles?"
