It Rocks!:Fall bike to work wk.

In Vancouver area & suburbs, this is the 2nd year, where we celebrate Bike to Work Wk. twice during the yr. Beautiful fall day today. Tomorrow rain is predicted, so hopefully will still have some cyclists stopping by for info., coffee, bars, fruit, juice, bike mechanics checkup, etc.

Freebie sticker from a sponsoring bike store, in my hand says: "Girls that roll, rock." Not exactly bike related, but eh.

2 times a year? Awesome! I love the pic of you with the falling leaves in the background.

Love autumn too for events when there's no rain. Fall component added only just last year for bike to work week. Cyclists who are dedicated enough to cycle-commute throughout fall and our (mild) winters need to be encouraged.

But I'm amazed for lph in her end of Norway, that they are having winter bike to work week event this week..when there's snow!

Hopefully some of these same cyclists may bike when things get clogged downtown during the Olympics. City will have extra bike parking areas at certain event venues. http://olympichostcity.vancouver.ca/...ikeparking.htm Some road closures by the city, will restrict car use into downtown up to 30%. No choice, sheer volume of extra human bodies flooding into the area just to walk (much less cycle) from point A to point B within a 10 kms. downtown radius.
