    FS: Wilderness Systems Tandem

I'm testing the waters here, as towards the end of September we are going to test drive a Hobie kayak. If we like it then this one will have to go.

Our Wilderness Systems is AWESOME. Phase 3 seats, it is five years old, we purchased it from Ducktrap in Maine. New, it goes for $1220, and this one has a rudder, which is a big upgrade and a great feature. We'll throw in two old PFDs. $600.

My husband and I did a long-weekend kayaking vacation in the San Juans on a tandem. I think if I suggested buying one he might give me "the look" We had a good time, but it was definitely an exercise in working together.

    It sounds sweet, though.

Tandem kayaks are often referred to as "divorce boats." My partner and I do everything together, hike, bike, kayak. Two old maids paddling away and having a good time of it!

By the way, I'll be in San Diego at the end of September, I can bring the tandem kayak with me if anyone is interested in the purchase!
