They sleep with me.
Well, nearly... They are at the foot of my bed (all 4 of them). I think I'm going to mount them to the wall when I move so they don't take up so much floor space, but they'll still be in my bedroom.

How and where do you store your bikes? We have 5 bikes. I've been using those hooks things(and put them into the rafters/studs) and hanging them in the basement during the winter and craming them in the garage. Right now our mountain bikes are still in the basement, because there's no more room in the garage.

They have their own bedroom. Since we don't have kids (nor do we want them), the spare bedroom is for our babies; the bikes.![]()

My road and mountain bike stay in the garage so I have quick access to them. DH's bikes stay out in the shed. LOL......He keeps telling me that I should put my bikes out there too and make more room in the garage but I ride just about everyday and I want them close so I can keep an eye on them.
Used to put my 2 babies on a floor/ceiling rack.
Donated my old TREK last year, so my SPecialized was leaned against wall in hall until recently.
Now its on the wind trainer in the living room where I sit an pedal a bit each day trying to get my butt re-accustomed to the saddle (its been a while).
Why not ride outside, you ask... I have a bad case of De Quervains in my left wrist. Can't shift, can't brake - well I can but it involves screaming and cryingOn the trainer I can sit up and not use my hands at all.
no regrets!

They are scattered all over the basement level of the house - mostly leaning against walls.
1 bike in the garage - my commuter.
2 bikes in the furnace room - DH's road bike and his flatbar road.
1 bike in the laundry room (which is technically all one room with the furnace room) - my road bike.
4 bikes in the utility/"garden" room - 2 mountain bikes, 1 cruiser, and my old road bike, which is currently on loan to a friend of mine for the summer.
Oh, and the unicycle is usually in the utility room too, but that's on loan to a neighbor's son. We reeeally expect to get that back....soon.
In the storage building.

The 2 road bikes that we ride every day are permanently mounted in the back of our Town & Country van!! Yep - we took out all the back seats and DH built a platform with front tire skewers bolted in. We take off the front wheels, roll them on to the platform and front fork locks into the skewers. We hang our helmets on the shopping bag hooks in the back. Our shoes, heart rate monitors, rain gear, bike tools all are stowed under the platform in big, flat plastic tubs. I'll see if I can get a pic to show.
The rest of the bikes are in the garage, including the 1949 Schwinn that DH's granddad used to ride. Weighs like 50 pounds - LOL.
There hasn't been a car in my garage since 1999.

We store our bikes in 2 areas-- mine in common locked caged bike storage area with other residents' bikes. There are post and rings inside common caged are, to lock up bikes also which I do for all 3 of my bikes. Our building has several caged areas.
He keeps his in his storage locker off of the underground parking garage. He has 3 plus his BOB bike trailer. My storage locker is full of other stuff.
We have no rm. to store not even 1 bike, in our living premises within condo.

We have a large garden shed, that looks like the rest of the house. Instead of gardening tools, our bikes are in there. We each have 3 bikes, plus, my son's Serotta is in there, too. DH's bikes are all hung with hooks, as is my mountain bike. But I can't easily lift the hanging bikes on/off because I am too short, so my road bike and Jamis are in a little 2 bike holder stand.
DH also built a platform with the front tire skewers in the back of his Lexus. He mostly keeps his bike in there during the week, as when he commutes, he's taken to driving to a municipal lot and starting his ride from there, to avoid the climb home.
I haven't even put my bike rack on this year; I just stick my bike in the back of my car, with the seat folded down.
We used to keep our two mountain bikes in the entry way to our tiny apartment. You couldn't open the front door the whole way, nor get into the coat closet w/o moving the bikes. Now we have three bikes but are getting ready to move so two of the bikes are, with our landlord's permission, out in the hallway/stairway area leading to the roof. That leaves just one to hang out behind the front door![]()
In my new place I'll have half a basement for my bikes and won't have to carry them down from the 3rd floor every time I want to go for a spin - I think that's one of the most exciting parts of the move!
Question: Do those of you who keep bikes in your car have any worries about them getting damaged from the heat?
We have the front fork-lock set-up in our car and I used to keep my old bike in there all the time, but I've been reluctant to leave my new bike in the car in the summer because I'm worried that the heat will mess it up. It's a mountain bike so I guess the tires would be alright, but I haven't wanted to take the chance. Any thoughts?
i keep my 2 bikes in our laundry room, leaning against my bike stand. I used to keep them in our storage closet in the building's basement (I live in a nyc apartment) but decided i would ride more if i kept them inside our apartment. it's working so far.
My three bikes are in the basement, two on a gravity rack and one hanging from a hook in a rafter. I have extra wheels hanging from hooks in a few studs.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...
