Beautiful day today (winter is FINALLY over!!)....60F and sunny but nice and cool feeling. I did a favorite 20 mile ride I hadn't done for at least a year I think. What a pleasure to be back riding again after that very 'difficult' winter.
I also felt very free today, because yesterday I was in court in the same room as an accused murderer and I was in the jury pool of about 50 people, for the second day. I was lucky to have not been picked as one of the 12 jurors for this case, because A) it was a very unsavory and gruesome murder of his pregnant wife and there had been an overturned conviction on it already 12 years ago(!) making things rather complicated and B) it would have meant my attending court all day for an estimated 3 weeks or more and getting paid a 'whopping' $40/per day for it....yikes, talk about going broke while losing precious work time! They don't even pay gas or lunch! So, even though I would have been willing to serve, and had answered all their questions honestly, I didn't get picked this time, I won't get summoned again for 6 years now, and I'm sure GLAD!
