Hey Salsa - did you do Lake Washington last weekend too? We were taking some prospective members around again when a pair of tandems came by. We were on the east side of the lake, headed north.

Tater! Xrays So sorry. Glad you're ok. Hope they can fix your bike quickly.

Xeney: Ditto. I thought I missed my husband's cough/congestion thing he had this last week. However, as I crested a hill I usually cruise up--I realize I was gasping and had to stop. Guess I'll take it easy this afternoon. Hope you're doing OK (Chicken soup, lot's of Vitamin C and fluids!)

No, last weekend we did a hike at Mt. Baker. The weekend before that, though, we did a Mercer Island/Bellevue/Yarrow Point/Kirkland/Finn Hill kind of loop on the tandem. I saw a bunch of Group Health team members both times and I keep thinking we're seeing you but never have enough time to be sure!

Tater, so sorry about your crash.

could have been two weeks ago.... south end rides all run together after a while, and we were doing Sunday Women's rides for the last few weekends...

Ouch, Tater... glad the bones are whole!

I did 200KM on Saturday... took 12 hours almost exactly. I was ready to quit at 103... but stopped at Meijer and bought a PowerBar Gel and it really did give instant energy.

Today my quads were a *little* sore... no more sore than an indoor training ride.

Wow: TATER: glad it wasn't worse, and I hope all heals quickly.
JIFFER: I laugh reading your post -- not AT you, mind you, but b/c you describe me to a tee! When I have a lot to do, somewhere to be and I'm running late, I'd lose my head if it wasn't hooked on! Glad to see I'm not the only one, but I'm sorry you had such a frustrating, and fairly expensive (the Oakleys) day.

My ride Saturday was a good time mostly. My friend is married to one of "the big boys" on our bike club. We call the speed racers this. He wanted to get a few guys together to ride a SLOW ride on Saturday, cuz they planned a century for Sunday. So they said they'd take it easy and "hang back" with us. Well -- hang back for them is more than I usually can keep up with. Until we hit the head wind, we were cruising along at 18-20mph! But they were great and provided a heck of a windblock at times, and came back to grab me when I fell behind. (Isn't that SWEET?!)

Overall it was a beautiful ride from Mount Vernon, to Conway and to LaConner and back to Mount Vernon. Man my legs were TOAST! About 35 miles by the time we finished. The weather was absolutely gorgeous (see Salsa's previous photos) for the Pacific NW at this time of year!

Tater- Glad you are *mostly* okay. Hope the bike fares well.

Jiffer- Thanks for the laugh. We went tubing this summer and I left the windows down on the car, in a public lot with my wallet in the glove box and cell phone on the seat!

Saturday I did 186 miles round trip to Luckenbach and back. On my Dad's Harley, I will never pedal that far. It was fun and a nice day off with the parents.
