Color coordination of household things never crossed my mind.
The word SALE catches my attention, though.

I still have red and red & white patterned towels in the kitchen, but everywhere else we have become a white towel household.
White.
For all our blood, sweat, and tears, but mostly grease, beer, and whatever.
Hot water wash. Bleach.
Natural devolution from proper bath towels and bar towels, to cleaning cloths, to rags, to bike rags.
I guess we could use them for kindling if we had a wood stove, but we don't.
It has simplified my life more than I would ever have imagined.

Right.
I didn't mention that we buy them by the bale at Costco.
Sometimes I get carried away and get textured (also white) hand towels at TJ Maxx.
I am currently transitioning to all white towels in our household as well. I'm also going to all white sheets. It's just so much easier to know you can bleach them and they'll be fine.

Hm. I tried to go the other way and buy navy blue towels last time we went on a sailing trip. Turned out they didn't show any dirt whatsoever, but they were thick and soft and dried slowly and smelt funky almost instantly. I'm back to any darkish colour as long as it dries fast. The more raggedy and coarse the better.

Trek--You're staging a house to live in or to sell?
No one in their right mind would buy this place while we live here. I can just imagine the realtor..."Uh, this is the second bathroom, and the indoor bike storage area. The tub and shower both work, and if you take the bikes off the ceiling you can close the shower curtain...You could still take a bath...They won't fall on you."
I'm not even sure anyone would want it if it were uninhabited and staged.
