I use the Castelli Simple gloves. I have never used the Logo gloves. But the Simple gloves also have the loops between the fingers and they aren't made of the strongest material. If you use them to pull off the gloves they will eventually get stretched out and break. I also noticed that someone had a similar experience with the Logo gloves.

I have the women's Castelli glove, the Maya glove. While I like it -- no padding, vented palm, pretty, etc, and I think they're constructed fairly well -- the black palms are fading onto my white bar tape . I wrote Castelli an email about this actually, just to let them know that the dye is not fast... I'm miffed because I actually like the gloves a lot but now I am going to need to replace my NEW bar tape pretty soon, and I HATE taping my bars because I'm no good at it...

I like Descente, but they don't seem to last, I've had great Pearl Izumi and Specialized gloves, but I'm currently using Assos. If the gloves he likes are $50, it's only $10 above his budget for something he knows he likes, better then taking a chance on a cheaper pair that he might not like.

But the Assos are available in two levels. The S-series are under $30 and have lasted us a long time.

Mr. SR500 - I think it's more like he doesn't want to spend the $$ on principle. I've offered... And we don't know he would like those - we just ran across them online. Sadly, everything around here has lots of gel padding.

Interesting re the Maya. I've not had that problem, but I haven't ridden them yet on the bike that has white bar tape. Hmmm..... I'm actually not loving them because they aren't quite enough padding for me. To each her own

We'll keep searching and maybe order a couple of pair to try If you don't want specialized with tons of gel, my lbs can't help.
