Yes, it's good, umm, I mean no, you won't like it, send all of your cherry pies to me.
I grew up in a military family and lived in Italy for a long time...not much exposure to cherry pie.

Isn't there a century near you called the Ride for Pie? You could ride for cherrie pie. It's great, but not with the canned stuff, real cherries.

I was in Aviano (in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region by Pordenone, north of Venice) from 1969 to 1973. I used to speak Italian fluently but it has faded to where I can only understand a little.

I consider Italy to be where "I grew up" since I was there for the formative part of my youth (ages 9-13).

Ah yes! The Janesville Morning Rotary Pie Ride I did that once, and I did get a cherry pie for finishing within the time limit. It's a very pretty ride route too. It ends at a swimming beach on a little lake, but I didn't know that and hadn't brought a swim suit. Was a nice day for it, though. Mid-June as I recall. Too late for this year, but here's the link that was: http://www.janesvillemorningrotary.o..._pie_ride.html

Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
