Best safety hi-viz long sleeve summer wt jersey

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    Hi All,

I'm looking for a long sleeve summer weight safety neon yellow jersey for visibility and sun protection coverage. The closest I have found is this Canari jersey http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=32684

    1) Does anyone know if it's neon yellow, or just yellow?

    2) Can anyone suggest any other hi-viz summer weight long sleeve tops?

It seems like there are a lot of men's hi-viz tops, short and long sleeve, and very few women's. Is it that we women won't buy hi-viz for fashion reasons, or do the manufacturers not care about us being seen by cars? What gives?

    hi-viz safety neon tops

Does the lack of response mean we women really don't buy hi-viz yellow tops? Does anyone know if this Canari jersey is hi-viz neon yellow, or just yellow?

Is the only alternative to buy a men's extra small or small (I'm a women's size 8, typically a medium).

Appreciate any tips out there. Bright hi-viz clothing has saved me on a number of occasions, even though I ride safely and defensively.

sorry, sometimes a good question like yours is not seen because of all the chatter.
where i live, it's not too hot and i wear a dayglow vest or jacket. i also have a "nothing" safety vest that just fastens with velcro but does not have any substance that i wear.
I do not have any jerseys that are glowing. YOu might call Team Estrogen about their stuff they have an 800 number and are VERY helpful.

I think the lack of response means that you need to give it more than 6-1/2 hours, and it's a new item on TE. I don't know how long Canari has been making those, but they haven't been on TE for more than a month or two I don't think.

    Call Renata at TE!

You must call TE at their 800# - their customer service is THE BEST. They will run to the shelves and pull out whatever you are wondering about (color, measurements, etc) and let you know right away. You can tell them your build/or physical quirks, and they can compare you with someone else in the office who has a similar build and has tried the clothes on for a point of reference. (They can tell you if something tends to run a bit on the large or smallish side for example). You don't get some clueless customer service rep - you get the real TE women who run the place! They really care! ( I usually get Renata, she is very helpful) Tokie

There was another thread under Apparel earlier this week about high-viz versus reflective items. Brooks has a couple of fairly lightweight, very high-viz, long-sleeved tops---one is the Podium, the other is the form-fitting Equilibrium. I don't think either has any great ambitions in the SPF-protection department, however. You might check out that thread and see if anyone mentioned other screamin' yellow ls shirts light enough for summer wear.....Good luck and welcome to TE!

Reading the Brooks Nightlife thread might be helpful to you.

I was trying to look up the jersey elsewhere, but haven't found it yet. I'm with you, I want super hi-viz.

If you can go by TE's pictures of long-sleeve jerseys, the Canari one looks flourescent. But calling is probably best. There are two tops with the same description listed on that page, also.

I imagine the urgency has to do with the free shipping deal. Just a guess.

    Hi ladies,

Sorry, haven't been on the forums for a few days. Yes, it's a hi viz yellow, so it's easily visible from quite a distance.

    Hi MtnRider,

I just purchased this exact jersey from TE and it is definitely hi-vis. I wore it (again) yesterday on a muggy late afternoon ride, upper 70's, and it was remarkably comfortable.

I like the fit very much also. I am a solid size 16 and the XL fits nicely, comfortable and not too tight.

I am considering getting another, it's going to be one of my favorites.
