Yay!....Knot and Sandra are both now "shakked up"!!!

The size Large shaks fit both of you well?

Knot, I wear a medium halfzip shak, often with my Large fullzip shak over it, and then a Large green Carrie over that. I'll be interested in seeing how the Large fits you.

Sandra- the non-heaviness of the shak is what makes it so incredibly versatile. I love how it keeps me totally warm while still letting a little air circulate so I don't get overheated. It's so great on a cold day with a vest. The Carrie is just slightly thicker, making it an ideal lightweight cozy hooded zipper sweatshirt/jacket. The Carrie is not heavy or dense like loden wool at all. A Carrie over a shak and a thin base layer will keep you warm down to 15 degrees or so if you're out walking for a an hour or two.

Large half-zip Shak fits me perfectly, like all Large Ibex seems to. I just hope the large Carrie fits me OVER the Shak.

I'm counting on that "relaxed fit" going over a couple layers.

I sorta wish I hadn't gotten this Shak.

because NOW I want another one!!!

Yesterday I tried it on. Today I'm wearing it. It is so soft and comfortable, I can see where I'd need TWO. One to wash and one to wear. OK, who else had a good deal on Shaks in a L? Uncled Dan's still has them. hummmmmmmm Warm green, soft brown, or black?

The Pingo jacket is not going to be soft like this, right?

The wool weenies are KILLING ME!!!

Today I just ordered a Pingo jacket from REI. Today I am also wearing my new (and 2nd) Carrie hoody from High Country Outfitters (it came in 2 days!) with my Nolita jacket (scored off e-bay). I also have a Breakaway jacket in my closest that I haven't even worn yet! What is wrong with me?

Seriously, I need to not come into this thread any more.

But, I will say that if I like the Pingo better than the Breakaway (which is, admittedly, a bit too big for me), I'll offer the Breakaway up to the wool weenies.

Get a black full zip shak. It will go with everything.
Don't forget you'll need merino things to sleep in too.

The Pingo is not wool on the outside, so it will not be shakish. Has a thin wool flocking/lining on the inside. The outside is uber-cool hi tech material. It's very handsome. I hope your zipper works well though....let us know!

How do the men's Shaks run? Hubby normally wears a L in everything. Think a L would work for him in a Shak? He won't want it fitted like a cyclist. I'm sure he is going to want one. He is usually colder than I am just sitting around the house.

My husband is usually a Large in tops, and the Large halfzip shak fits him beautifully. He got himself one black one, then wore it almost every day, and 2 weeks later he ordered a second one to wear while one was in the laundry. Ahhh, the classic shak behavioral pattern! (and he doesn't even usually wear black!)
