You could try running in them. I would guess that there would be a high chance of blistering so you might want to use body glide or vaseline between the toes. My biggest concern would be if they were supportive enough. That's immpossible to tell from the information they give you on the web page.

You could look for Japanese socks that are designed for thong sandals. I got my pair in Japan (at Epcot!) but they must be widely available online.
