I would like to join in. I have been talking about losing these 10 lbs for months now, so I suppose it is time I put up or shut up. I like the idea of measuring, too.

I don't have a plan so to speak. I eat clean now, just too much! Portion control is my issue.

I weigh 147. Goal is 135. I will post my measurements tomorrow morning.
I am never down. I am either up or getting up.

Okay, I'm in, too, because I can't seem to do it on my own.

This morning's weigh-in was 136. I was planning on a slow loss of 15 or so lbs. by my birthday in March, but will try for 10 by January if it's just fat I'm removing. I'll just be eating carefully and being especially mindful of portion size.

I saw a nutritionist several months ago, but really need to make an appt for a body comp analysis. I keep putting it off, but I'm holding the business card in my hand right now. I WILL make the call. Maybe the results won't be as bad as I think.

November-December is a difficult time for me to keep from mindless eating at work. People receive goodies from others at home and bring them to work to get them out of the house. Many of our vendors send big boxes of See's candy and the like in December. Drives me nuts!

I hope we can all support each other through the difficult times and cheer the successes.

Thanks flybye, for starting this thread. Good luck everyone!

    What great timing! I'm in!

I've been sick with the flu for a week now and yesterday was my first day feeling like a real human. I'm still not up to exercise just yet, but I'm hoping by tomorrow I'll feel like getting back at it.

My goal is more than 10#, but I'd LOVE to be 10 lbs closer to it by Christmas.

I actually must have had some foresight as I took all my measurements on Saturday. I don't have them with me, but I can post them when I get home tonight. I'll weigh tomorrow morning 'officially', but my guess is that I'm near 159 (UGH!).

I will be following my own general healthy eating plan, but it's similar to South Beach in content. I also have Fitday PC version, so I'm working on how to get that set up to fit my lifestyle and once I do, I'll be recording all my intake there.

    Yay for accountability...I need it!

I'm in, I have been battling weight since I quit smoking 6 years ago. It seems every winter I lose 25lbs and every spring/summer I gain it back.
I will sort of follow WW flex plan but mostly just calorie counting.

Count me in. I would love to have a holiday season where I do not gain! However, maybe with losing 10 as a goal and with the support here, heck, I'll give it a try.

    Weight today 155

I'm going to try the 'don't eat fastfood and lots of sugar' diet

I'm in!! I am 53 and having a hell of a time losing weight since menopause. Hopefully this will be the incentive I need. The modified South Beach, higher protein approach seems the best for me.

    Today's weight- 176.6 (yikes)

    Goal- 150

    Thanks for starting this thread.

    hmm

I'd like to do a watered down version whilst on the injury sidelines!

Last time i weighed myself i was65kg. I'd like to maintain that or lose some whilst being unable to do serious exercise.

I shall keep an eye on what i eat & try some very gentle exercises.

    good luck ladies!

    I'm in, too!

    Today:
    wt. 183
    Chest: 40"
    waist: 35"
    hips: 46"

I started discarding my excess weight on December 29th, when I weighed 206. I lost 15 lbs really quickly and then I plateaued all summer, while riding my bike. In July I went to be hypnotized to change my mind, and that has happened. My weight has gone down slowly, but I am much more fit than I was, and more importantly, my motivation is there.

Right now I'm doing a fitness boot camp and I only have 11 classes left--then it's not meeting for December, and I don't know if I'll be able to afford it again in January. I'm trying to work dog walks into my off days--but the problems I may be having with my iron stand in the way of that--I just get so tired. Though today I did have a chocolate milk to recover after my class, and I didn't need a nap today--so maybe it's something about glycogen stores being depleted.

I also use CalorieKing and tracking is the only way I know how to be sure of what I'm eating. You can use fitday and sparkpeople both for free, but I like not needing an internet connection to log. AND, CK has the most food in its database, hands down.

We're going on a cruise with the Barenaked Ladies in January, and I want to have to buy all new clothes!

Here's to us! ("Who's like us?" "Very few..." "And they're all DEAD!" pirate joke)

    Thumbs up

    I AM IN!!

    Look at all the responses!

I've already put on 4 lbs since the full-blown riding season came to an end in Connecticut (i.e., haven't been able to ride after work for weeks, and once on the weekend is JUST NOT CUTTING IT).

Yes, I know, I really need to motivate to get to the gym more often.

My wonderful sister just gave me a trainer yesterday, though. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Let's go girls! I weigh in daily. 148.5 this morning. UGH!!!!!!!!

    Back on the wagon . . .

Can you believe I already fell off after only one day! My FIL had a heartattack late Monday night in the middle of moving. FIL is doing very well, minimal damage to heart. We are so thankful. Anyways, MIL and I spent all day yesterday getting them moved. Only 2 hours of sleep. Up at 4 to clean and move . . . I was a working zombie all day. And of course I ate fast food, halloween candy, and topped it off with pizza and pumpkin pie. I feel ill today.

    I need some spinach.

Is it too late to join this challenge? If so, will there be another?

Bad day for me. I was doing good until lunch time. I finished eating my healthy lunch and just couldn't resist the birthday cake sitting in the middle of the table in the staff lounge. It was delicious and I enjoyed it until I finished the last bite. Then I was mad at myself for giving in. Starting from square one again tomorrow.
