Why I was late to work yesterday

I had been doodling on the computer just before work so I was getting ready at the last minute anyway. I went into the bathroom for a last quick pee before leaving... and there was my big, rough coat collie, curled up in the bathroom. As I sat down he uncurled like a big furry flower for me to rub his belly. Well, how could I resist? Now I'm just at the edge of where I could leave and get there on time. So I go to grab my doctor bag and my jacket, which are sitting on the floor by the couch. And I notice my jacket has a tail. My girl-cat has crawled into the jacket and is lying there like the world's happiest purrito. How could I move her? I thought about getting a different jacket, but she's also lying on my bag, which I need for work. As I'm debating this the dog comes out of the bathroom to investigate. AND THE CHASE WAS ON! So now I have to calm the household because at this point, the other dog and the boy-cat have joined the melee. Separating all of the animals and uprighting overturned furniture took about 10 more minutes before it was safe for me to leave. And THAT'S why I was late for work.

you need to keep them separated when you are gone so they can't plot their next takeover!

Priceless! We humans love our pets, don't we? I can never deny my Mayah a tummy rub either.

    I love that.

I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
