    Canari - jersey fit?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I want to buy a long-sleeved summerweight jersey with SPF for sun protection on my arms (even w/ good sunscreen I am getting too much sun on my arms).

Canari seems to have a reasonably priced one - but last time I bought a Canari jersey I got a small, which should have fit, but it is quite a bit roomier than I like. Anyone have an idea if this brand always runs big? I just want to avoid having to deal with returns and all that.

Or, if anyone has a good summerweight to recommend, I'd appreciate that as well. (Here in southern NM, we have a bit of summer left!)

    Thanks.

Call team estrogen. I am looking for warmer long sleeved jerseys and have fit issues- I'm tall, long limbed, broad shouldered, small through the back waist and hips. She listed off three brands and one specific style to try in under a minute. She also listed a couple to stay away from. Very helpful.

    Good luck!

I think it depends on the cut - before I had to wear team kit, Canari was my favorite brand, but I always got the race cut as the club fit ones are baggy. I'm not sure they are making any race cut women's clothing any more though - those ran true to a little small.

I have their LS SPF jersey in a small and the fit is really loose/baggy. The least flattering jersey I have. I have another of their (fleecy winter) jerseys that fits great, but the SPF jersey is not at all cut to reveal any sort of figure underneath. I am tall and have a small frame, but boobs too. I usually wear a size 4 in standard clothes. I wore it once and kicked myself b/c I should have returned it...

Bear in mind that SPF fabrics lose their SPF as the fabric is stretched, so manufacturers are likely to run their SPF jerseys on the large size so the fabric *isn't* stretched.

I have a long-sleeved Canari jersey and it is big on me, too. Hmmm...

I haven't had any luck with Canari. Every article I bought (3 total) came apart at a seam within a wash or two (on gentle cycle, no dryer, dreft). I swore them off and stick with pearl, cannondale, world jersey, price point, etc. Good luck.

Thanks, all. I think I am going to continue looking and pass on the Canari. I do like to look like a girl when I ride (I, too, am tall yet small + boobs), so why settle. Thanks for mentioning the "stretch" factor, though - that makes sense.
Calling TE is a good starting point, I think.
    Take care out there.
