Heh, that post caught my eye this morning. I was at The Bicycle Escape over the weekend for their Independent Fabrication event, and Tom (the owner/my LBS sensei) chided me for not posting there anymore. Guess I need to start braving the SS/fixie/mtb testosterone crew again
And, yeah, I'm looking forward to riding my (geared!) 'cross bike on cool, fall days...

Oh my gosh, I had to keep my mouth closed through the presentation because I was drooling so badly. IF makes some beauuuuutiful bikes! I wasn't able to ride any of them, but I did talk to the president of the company about their 'cross bike, the Planet Cross. I was seriously considering it and beginning to plan what sort of cool paint job I'd get, until Tom told me that it would probably cost $4000 to build one for me
I'm just not to that point yet. $2000 is the limit in my current new bike quest. One day, though...
