My new 2xu wetsuit is HERE! ! !
in 1/2 hour it is going to be taken to the river for its virgin dunk. I will let you all know how it goes/feels

Air temp is only 60 degrees right now and the wind is about 20 mph

Should make the water feel warmer (I couldn't make it the other day but I guess the water temps were 59 - that may have been a little cold

I like how the 2xu fits. I am right in the middle of the size medium chart for height and weight (on the other brands I was right on the cutoffs) I am small on top and have wider hips. There is some give in the top so it would fit someone a little larger than me but I can see if someone is fairly to well endowed it would be pretty squished and tight.

They do make you feel pretty buff! just like your whole body has been shrink wrapped!

Well took the 2xu out for its inaugural run.

    It was AWESOME ! ! ! !

It didn't take as long to put on as I expected. (I practiced at home)
I was concerned about the neck and feeling constricted as I had read that was an issue w/ a lot of people. I didn't even notice it until well into the swim when I thought about it. I don't move my neck a whole lot when I swim but rather do a pretty good body roll and the wetsuit really helps w/ that.

I practiced spotting this time around. The OB was fine because we had a fishing dock to look at but there wasn't too much to look at on the return.

The water was a lot warmer than the last time we were in (68 degrees today vs 64 the other day) the air temp was only 58 degrees and the wind speed was 28mph w/ 37 mph gusts (good thing the river is down a bank and a little bit protected from the wind. I got in, got wet, got out and stood on the bank for a minute then got back in - the water felt like bathwater

We swam farther today than last time. I am not sure how far but I figure it was at least 200+ yds out. It took me 4 min on the OB (going w/ the current and the wind) and 0:05:20 on the return against the current and against the wind. SO that means w/ this wetsuit I am definately faster as I did a shorter distance last time and it took me 10 minutes.

Re the vertigo upon completion: We wore aquatic earplugs this time and that seemed to help - also I learned if I look downstream I don't get as dizzy as if I look at land or upstream (upstream is the worst)

another thing learned - wetsuits w/ full legs are not conducive to doing the breaststroke - my legs float too much and I can't get any power from the kick!

the zipper pull has a small piece of velcro attached to the end so it can loop up and hook to the neck tab. Easy to find, stays out of the way. The neck tab is LARGE so easy to grab and undo.

I am now getting VERY excited and am ready to go have some fun w/ this
Only 3 more sleeps until the big day

Congratulations! Good luck this weekend! Come back with a race report!
