    The wetsuit saga continues....

    WETSUIT FUN!

The wetsuit I finally decided on was the Blue Seventy Energie. It was in my price around ($400) and has been "made" to fit a woman's body (aka: a body with boobs and booty).

I get home last night from my spin class and go to put on my new wetsuit. Might as well do it while I'm all ready sweaty and gross.

I put on some leather gloves to protect the wetsuit from my finger nails and I started working on getting it up.

After about 10 minutes and a lot of sweat... It was ON! YES! VICTORY!

I then realize that I MUST try the suit out right then and there. So, I tromp over to my neighbors door and have him zip it up for me and cut the tags off.

I went over to the pool at the apartments to try it out. He came over to watch as he had never seen a wetsuit like that before.

The water was cold! Perfect. I get in up to my waist.. and the legs are perfect. Tight and no water is getting in. I go up to my neck and all this water goes into the suit and pools in my lower back. I swim around some (with my head out of the water), and the flexibility in the shoulders is great. I can move my arms with ease and my stroke is not affected.

I get out, and the suit seems large. I have material bunched up behind my knees and around my waist. I hurts to sit because of all the waist rolls in the suit.

I call Tri Sports this morning and they said the suit is too large. DANG IT! So, they are sending me a size smaller. I am keeping the larger size though, to ensure that I won't need to keep it.

    So, the wetsuit saga continues....

    Oh K!

Hey look at the bright side... you're getting closer!

I have had the knee-bunching issue, too but not enough for me to return my suit. Plus, I've already been using it and would feel guilty about returning it. I have the Blue Seventy in small, but the XS became an issue when I had trouble getting my heel in and out of the leg holes.
(I'm at the lower end of their sizing spectrum for small: 4'10"-5'3"/108-121, and the highest end in their XS: 4'8"-5'1"/98-112)

BTW, ocean temps have been 58°. BRRRR!!!!

Sounds interesting... but this gal is just too broke to even think of something like that. $400 was my limit on something I might use 2-3 times a year.

And I wonder if they make custom tri wetsuits? SCUBA and tri wetsuits are totally different.

Otherwise, I have a 2 wetsuits in my closet I could use....

Well, at least you're that much closer. I bought a wetsuit from someone on here on these very TE forums and haven't tried it on (worst case, I'll re-sell it). I'm tempted to go put the thing on right now just to know...

Good luck, you'll find it sooner or later!!

You're getting closer. I can understand your frustration. I hope the next one works out for you.

I may end up going for a custom suit this year. We'll see if the budget will allow for one.
