LIVESTRONG question

Thank you for asking.

Last Friday evening my husband found his mom unconcious (sp?) and we've been pretty much living at the hospital since, although she's awake now. They are trying to figure out what's wrong.

We missed the Livestrong event and I have been mentally composing emails/blog entry explaining that to all the generous people who supported us -- but so far haven't put a word to keyboard (except for now, this post).

Sigh.

Oh, pooks, I am so sorry about your mother in law, and I am so sorry that you missed your ride. I hope your mother in law is okay.

I just found out I don't have to be at the hospital until later so am about to go out and ride. Silver linings, and all that!

I am sure everyone will understand. Their money went to a worthy cause whether you rode or not. I am sorry that you had to miss the event, I know you were really excited. I hope your DH's mom gets better soon. Enjoy your ride.

*hug* It's okay, Pooks. The greatest of plans can fail when unexpected events occur. The fund raising is the hardest part- the ride is really the icing on the cake. Your riding in the event wouldn't help anyone- but your contribution, the time spent collecting donations, that's where the real difference was made. And on top of that, you can be there for DH and his mom. All around, you're doing good things, Pooks. If people can't understand that, they're not really worth talking to.

I'm sooo sorry about your MIL, I hope she is okay and they find and are able to fix whatever the problem is.
I understand this more than you know. My DH found his mother lyeing (sp) outside on her front steps last summer in the heat. She was dilireous, sunburnt and we are just lucky that she had hurt her back a couple of days before which is the only reason my DH was going up to check on her that day or no telling how long she would have been there.

Anyway, things happen that you cannot help and I am quite sure everyone that supported you will totally understand.
