I bow to you!! That's my life goal, as spoken by a flatlander. I grew up in that area, had my senior high school picnic there. But I haven't even ventured to ride it. I can barely make it up the local Cantelow...

    someday...

Hey V- I trust you did the south side. I wonder what the diff would be if you had done the north side (shorter steeper depending on where you begin).

I'm totally impressed! But of course I'm not surprised as you've really worked hard this year. All of that hard work is paying off!! Yipee!!!!

If I didn't have floor issues at home this weekend, I'd do the brevet with you. I've done all of that route in one way or another and it's not bad as you know. I'm sure you'll be a star on that ride as well!

You might look at the 2005 stats for women your age Diablo Challenge and see how you compare. Bet you'd be in amongst the top contenders!

RoadRaven "Particularly considering its almost all uphill..."

almost? it's allllll uphill, one of those "even when it looks flat it's not" hills.

I'm in awe. I've gotten perhaps a mile from the top

Ack!! Tempted, in a crazy, insane kind of way. As if I'd even make it 1/4 of the way up without my heart rate going through the roof!!

I suck, but I do love to climb. Yeah. Me, in the turtle group, bringing up the rear! I haven't done any hills this summer.

But seriously, let me know when you all decide to attack MD sometime.

How many miles is that ride?

So glad I posted about this ride back in 2006. My laptop was stolen a couple of months later so I don't have much data for rhe ride, just what I wrote here and what's in my Bike Journal log.

Anyway... I am so close to beating my PB time to the Junction. Okay, so I'm within two minutes. But when I set the PB in 2006, I had more than 4,000 miles on my bike for the year. I'd done 3 double centuries and a self supported tour of Nova Scotia pulling a 50 pound BOB trailer. So to be at all close to it, when I have less than 90 miles on my bike for the year, is pretty exciting!

I think that 50 minute time is going DOWN!
