Any TE gals planning on doing this ride, or has anyone done it in the past? I thought it looks like a really nice one.

I haven't looked into registering yet...might be full already anyhow....but if not, I think I might sign up.

Dh and I have done this. It is a fun ride with good food. The weather can be dodgy though. But, that's MI in October for ya. We are considering doing it again this year--we are going back and forth between this one and the Vineyard Classic Tour in Paw Paw.

Thanks for the info. Good food at the rest stops is always a plus. Yes, the weather seems to be quite different from year to year on that ride. I guess I have enough cold weather clothes that I can't use that as an excuse. I think I might just have to sign up.

I was thinking about doing this ride for my first century, but decided not to because it's kind of far away from where I live. I am doing the Blue Water Ramble instead!

If you do the Apple Cider ride, post about how it was - I'm curious for next year.

Wow, I checked out their website. That sounds like a great event. I love the idea of taking the ferry into Canada for some of the ride. I'm going to have to put that one on my "someday I'll do it" list.

Hopefully I'll make it to the Apple Cider and I'll let you know how it went.

Yeah, the ferry is pretty neat. It makes the ride different from other ones, however, it does happen in October, so you never know how the weather will be. The first year I did it, it was sooooo cold and windy, but last year it was great. Definitely a ride worth checking out!

Another thought on Apple Cider--we camped there the night before. A lot of people had tents that they set up in the athletic fields of the school. We had a camper that we parked. It was a lot of fun--great community atmosphere.

I had thought that if I did do the ride I'd probably camp there the night before. It might be a good chance to meet some other riders, since I'll be going there by myself.

At least then I'd get a chance to make use of the replacement pole I had to order for my tent...since I destroyed one on a weeklong bike tour earlier this summer. Actually, with the bent pole I ended up making more new friends, since people seemed to find it entertaining to watch me put up my tent in the condition it was in.
