~~Tiffanie~~
Your biggest challenge isn't someone else.
It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs and the voice inside that yells "CAN'T".
But you don't listen. You just push harder.
And then you hear the voice whisper "CAN".
And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

Is that a sensor on the pole, so the camera trips when a rider goes by? Makes sense. Every picture perfectly timed.

I'll get a picture, but first I gotta say - wow what great pics!!
Deanna - Boy do I know that road that yours were taken on!! Right around the seven "sisters".
V - Oh boy - that exact bit of coastline taken from a slightly different angle has been my computer wallpaper for the last few months!!
Okay - here are some:
At the Eastern Sierra Double century in June (looking a little pudgy. hmm.):
After completing the 600k brevet in April (note the Mountain Dew and the grimace):
At Alpe d'Huez:

tiffanie.. yep! That's Ocotillo... in the Anza Borrego desert... and this was hands down the hardest century I've ever ridden. The first 50 miles to lunch are all a 2% climb... with a couple of 14% hills thrown in, just in case your not hurting enough...
the REAL problem tho was the wind... it was a head wind the entire climb... with gusts up to 50mph. It was actually scary... and many, many people turned back. By the time we got to lunch we had 10 minuted left before they were shutting it down... us and everyone else who'd just arrived!![]()
took us just over 4 hours to do the 50 miles...
THEN you turn around... tailwind and downhill... there were 5 mile stretches where we'd be doing 30mph and not pedaling once! THIS pic was on the way back! LOL![]()

Well, not my bike, but a recent picture from our Trek Travel tour in Tuscany.
