I can't find the article now, but in West Valley City, a 'burb of Salt Lake, law enforcement did a "safe passing law" sting last week (or maybe it was the week before). They put cops on bikes and pulled over vehicles that violated Utah's safe passing law, which requires motorists to give cyclists at least 3' of clear space when passing. I don't know how many citations (if any) were issued, as the main focus was awareness.
Bicycling is a major form or transportation in WVC. Hats off to the City for making the effort.
