I love the race report - I came here after reading it on twitter. Sometimes humble pie is what we eat, but we live to fight another day.

You didn't quit. You smiled. You finished. And you finished with an absolutely respectable time. It's virtually impossible to compare one Ironman to another, even the same course year after year, because in a race like that, there are SO MANY variables and they all get magnified at that scale of distance.
