Well, I wouldn't stop riding and I haven't, but I do shorten rides. I ride alone more than my husband, but they are usually short, loop rides, when I only have an hour. His alone rides are commutes, where he can hammer away. We don't like to be away from each other, either. I know it's weird, but it's true. I think if there was a long term illness or injury, we would tell each other to go, but we wouldn't be out all day, leaving the sick one alone. I did go for a group ride the day after he had his angioplasty.. I asked him if it was OK and he told me to go. I did feel a little guilty and if it were now I probably would have just gone a short local ride. So much of life is "doing" this stuff together, that it would be a major adjustment.
