I question it too. But, as far as I know, he is fully competent. Just a bit out there. It's so funny. We're a small company. After lunch, everyone tends to pass folks in the hall and say, "great pie!" or "can i have the recipe for that salad?" When I passed him, it took everything I had not to say, "Yummy Diet Coke!"
