The shower as a success tonight. We skipped the majority of the games although we couldn't resist a version of the toilet paper wedding dress. It turns out the bride had a meltdown this afternoon when she tried on her wedding dress and it was a disaster that likely can't be repaired (long story). But by the time the shower began, she had refocused her mind and was ready to go with a new dress plan (that includes skipping work tomorrow to shop all day). Not surprisingly, a lot of the conversation during the evening revolved around the wedding dress. Ultimately, we had the bride herself create a toilet paper wedding dress on her Grandma and we decided it was good enough to be able to a backup on the wedding day if she can't find anything else.

The most successful "activity", and one I would recommend to others, was when we secretly had one of the bridesmaids write down many of the phrases the bride said while she was opening gifts. "What is this?", "Oh, it's so soft!", "Pass this around and feel the fur", "He isn't allowed to touch them" etc... And then at the end, the bridesmaid read them aloud to all of us as if they were the things the bride would say on her wedding nights. There were gales of laughter on that one.

Thanks again for all the ideas and advice.
