Just a short update about my light shopping after searching, reading, and receiving help from here.

My orders came...

Serfas 4watt LED: intended as back up light, and enough for partially light situations. It indeed was. Only complaint is that the mount is so tight, I can't get it out. DH had to do it. I almost broke it. Think it might have to go back for that one (I wanted it to store smaller in the saddle bag like a flashlight head, vs with the bar mount attached with the tight clip problem).

Lights & Motion Arc HID Li-ion (less $ cub battery & ok run time for longer summer days, atm): wow... I knew there would be a huge diff, but it was like the cycling light gods opened the night heavens and commanded "Let there be light!". I would not have believed it without seeing it first hand.

I can't imagine riding on my pitch black country roads without the L&M. Looking forward to taking it out for a real trial soon.
