mmmm.....donuts
In general, I shun all things competitive, (fears of inadequacy, I was always really bad at sports growing up) but when I saw that the race was called the "Donut Derby", I couldn't resist.
It was a 35 mile road race in Trexlertown, PA (home of the Lehigh Vallley Velodrome and some of the best roads around!) with two check points. At the check ins they had loads of Krispy Kream glazed donuts, and for each one you ate, 3 minutes was deducted off of your time.
It was a blast! Watching everyone cram down donuts was so funny...and riding with a suger buzz? OK in my book! I finished with an 18 mph average with a ride time of 2:05 and ate 5 donuts for a deduction of 15 min!
Can't wait to "train" for next year
