Very cool that they finally connected those two trails. Almost makes me wish I still lived in Arlington (almost, but not quite)

The new connection between the WOD and Four Mile Run trails in Arlington, VA will officially open with a ceremony on May 30, 2009.

This should make it easier to ride (or walk, run, etc.) between the two trails in south Arlington, since it allows users to avoid the high-traffic area of the two Glebe Roads.
The Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee will be riding to the event from Court House Plaza, if anyone wants to join them.
I don't know yet what I'll be doing that day, but if I'm not out training for the Patuxent River Rural Legacy metric, I might stop by, since I live a couple miles away.

"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

Random babblings and some stuff to look at.
I think the connector is already open, even though the "ribbon cutting" hasn't happened yet. I drove past it the other day on my way to the hazmat recycling place.
It should definitely make it easier to cycle to/from the Mount Vernon trail, including Crystal City, National Airport, Old Town and of course Mount Vernon itself.
