    MTB bucket list

Do you have a mountain bike bucket list? Even though I am a beginner, I am slowly developing one. It will certainly require a lot of work from my current skill level to reach any of these - and I may not be able to reach all of these goals and that is ok. Each of the following is meant to build on the one before as I, hopefully, progress to my final goal of eventually riding Pisgah...this is a true multi-year bucket list. I've no interest in racing, I am focused more on trails rather than events. I am quite slow....and more interested in building overall skills and climbing strength. Speed will come as it will come.

    • Brown County Breakdown
    • Gravel Grovel
    • Nebo Ridge Trail
    • French Lick Trail
    • Tsali
    • DuPont State Park
    • Pisgah

The only non-mtb item on my list is BRAT, which I might do in 2013...

I have a small bucket list. And there's one HUGE item on there. So huge that I will not admit it to anyone until/unless I think there's even the slightest chance it will happen. Right now, current fitness wise - no way, but the idea keeps me going.

My goal this year is to stay uninjured long enough to actually build up some bike fitness...hah. And be confident enough on the bike for a fall trip to Moab. Anyone else wanna go out there this fall?

I hear you, and I have that goal as well. Really, the 50-ton gorilla "section" on my list starts with Dupont. I am pretty sure the ones before that are perfectly reachable for me if I can stay uninjured long enough to build fitness and endurance...but it will take a couple of years to build the bike fitness and experience I need to venture as far as Tsali. The first 4 things on my list are in southern Indiana, and the first two are events.

    Moab looks awesome...

There is something powerful about having a bucket list, and even more so about saying what is on it. It gets it out there in the ether, so to speak

I've never liked the term "bucket list". I'd like to think of a more positive term than "things to do before I kick the bucket." Maybe - Living Life to it Fullest Extent - LLIFE List.

A LLIFE list...I love it! Moab is on my LLIFE list. I could be interested in going with you, Jess. That's presuming that I, too, remain uninjured this season

I really like the different term, I couldn't think of what else to call it

My primary goals this season is to increase my mtb skills and fitness without broken bones or other major injury.

Looking forward to hearing how the Moab trip goes!

A few years ago we looked into doing a mountain bike tour in Alaska, that's still on my list.

Oooh, Alaska is on my list of destinations. And we don't travel without our mountain bikes. That would be a good one for sure.

I love the term Bucket List! It's tongue in cheek plus it helps me keep a perspective on what I can actually fit into my bucket. I stay healthier and happier when I make sure I don't try to stuff too much into my SK-sized bucket.

    White Rim
    Fruita
McKenzie River Trail the entire length (should be this summer)

Otherwise, we checked off a major bucket list item by moving to mtb paradise.

I'd like to do the Maah Daah Hey Trail sometime. But it was in terrible shape the last time I tried to ride any of it so I can't imagine dealing with 100 miles of that.

Lime, if you do Leadville I'll totally come cheer I go watch every year.

I rode Moab, many years ago. Hard. Also did Fruita CO two years ago. Horse Thief Bench was much more fun and just as hard. And in retrospect, the trails around Boise ID were just awesome. I had no idea about them but looming bad weather in Fruita drove me west for week two of my vacation and it was a great discovery. I will do Fruita again but am over Moab.

I also had Park City on my list back in the day and rode there back in the `90s. The altitude was tough on this sea level girl. Bend OR was also on my list, been there three times now and will go back again for the sweet single track. I would like to ride Ledville but there's that altitude again...

I looked up the Maah Daah Hey Trail and it sounds intriguing...but it doesn't sound like it is actually maintained considering the location... Very interesting location however!
