I think the idea behind 37 is that in case you crash, your glasses will fly off your face rather than scraping off parts of your face. (In theory.) DBF found this out the hard way. Probably also more comfortable.
I wonder how many of these I've violated. Like the bags, and the shoes, and the pedals...
At least I don't leave slime trails.

ROTFLOL! Most of it I don't even get and the ones I do are a waste of my time.
However; I must be pretty badass since I rode 10 miles in 99 degree heat today so I feel a little better. See rule no. 9

I will always violate rule #37.
As someone who grew up wearing glasses for as long as I can remember, it feels absolutely wrong to have anything underneath them. It even bothers me if my hair is stuck under the arms.
The socks/shorts rule cracks me up.

I road with my sunglasses outside the helmet straps today. Surely that is the one thing that I was missing before--now I'll be part of the hip crowd.
I was just starting to take myself too seriously and was going to buy a helmet without a visor! Thanks for the reality check, NYI started wearing the visor on my road helmet last summer. I got tired of squinting for hours at a time during hot sunny summer rides, and I have enough brown splotches on my face. I don't care who is pointing and laughing at me.
The best part is--DH showed this to me because he thought it was funny--BUT he takes quite a bit of this seriouslyHe hangs out on bikeforum.com after all
I'll add #38: You use a handlebar bag or rack! My itty-bitty black handlebar bag drives my husband CRAZY (funny he's always digging in there for something)

hahahahaha
I don't consider myself a snob at all and happily violate many of those rules ... but I have to say I looked askance when a woman showed up at our evening club ride (30-ish miles) on her brand new carbon Felt with a GINORMOUS handlebar bag (so big that it turned out later the reason she was slow was that it was dragging on her front tire).
What in the world does she need in there for a two-hour ride? (If she were a photographer I might give her an SLR camera with two or three lenses ... which would've fit ... but that would be too heavy to carry on the handlebars anyway.)

I assume this must be the reason why also. Though in some cases the glasses might help. I have my Rudy Project Girls with the temple pieces actually curved around my ears, and wear them under the strap I *think* lol... hafta go put my helmet on right now to verify. My glasses did fly off my head after I crashed head over the bars face first into the road. But, they cut very closely to the corner of my eye. Few mm closer, I would have completely lost the eye. Now, it has permanent vision damage from the impact alone. But, I can't help wonder if my eye would have been scraped off onto the road without the glasses? Never know for sure.

I like rule #9 also lol.
The male riding partner I was once out with on an organized event did not want to ride in the rain. As a favor to his SO, my usual riding partner, he did. We ended up doing 40mi. I would have done more, but he wanted to quit.
Maybe I'm insaine, but I'm one of those sickos that kinda likes the rain, and cold.
These are hilarious! I violate many of them and don't care. But sooooo funny!
P.S. What happened to rule 38?
