    Vasa ride is March 1

Registration is now open for WABA's 2009 Vasa ride:

    http://www.waba.org/events/vasaride.php

The ride is free, but they ask folks to register in advance so they can make sure they have enough blueberry soup on hand after the ride.

Ride lengths of 56, 28 and 14 miles. Starting at the House of Sweden in Washington, DC (Georgetown).

I was going to do this a couple of years ago, but it was too cold and windy so I wimped out. But if we have good weather this year, I think I will do the 28-mile route.

I might consider taking a vacation day for this ride, just to try the blueberry soup!

Apparently it's a Swedish thing. I will admit it's the primary reason I am interested in the ride. I love blueberries.

It's on a Sunday, so no sacrifice required. Blueberry soup just sounds gross.

Yer right. DH had turned the calendar ahead to March, so I was looking at April 1st! I was wondering why WABA was doing a ride on a Wednesday....

    It sounds.....interesting.
    I, too, love blueberries.
If it's warm, I have visions of blueberry syrup.

Has anyone done this ride? Are the routes posted?
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

I am considering it but I would like to know what the bike route is like. I haven't biked more than a few miles at a time so most likely I will stick with a shorter route.
Thanks TE! You pushed me half way over!
