Look out peloton!
My little Andrew is on his way to rock your world! Hee hee! After several attempts being foiled by the crazy snowstorms in the PNW my nephew finally got his Christmas presents and it appears I am the greatest aunt in the world.
I got him a yellow Strider run bike and a helmet that looks like a fish. The bike came in a box that had the bike on it so I covered it with grocery bags. He ripped it off and exclaimed "BIKE!!!!" So he put on his helmet and waited for mom to put the bike together.
I have no idea what was so complicated she couldn't put it together but apparently it was beyond her. Next thing you know there's a toddler tantrum in full effect. He removed clothes, he screamed, he yelled. Gina, my sister-in-law, tried to give him the bike with training wheels he got a while back but he said, "No! Take it away! I don't want it!!!"
This was probably not nearly as amusing to her as it was me, but I couldn't help but laugh. I'm so excited! Not only is he responsibly wearing his helmet, he can't wait to play with his yellow bike. Yellow, like the jerseys he'll soon be wearing. Awh, youthful bike love.
Whether he wins TdF stages or become president of IMBA or helps with World Bicycle Relief I'll be proud of him.
Oh, and I promise pics as soon as I get them!
"True, but if you throw your panties into the middle of the peloton, someone's likely to get hurt."
