    Running in circles....March 24th-31st

    GOOD MORNING!!!!

Well, I am off to the pool this morning, but I wanted to get the thread started. I am pleased to not have any residual pain after running the whole 30 mins yesterday. I feel pretty confident that I will be ok for the 5k on Saturday. My first ever by the way. I have run in adventure races, and triathlons, but never just signed up for a road race. It is kind of exciting!

    Have a good day everybody.

Rest day for me today - I did my scheduled run yesterday and it was the first time in a long while I've run this particular route on my own.

It sucked the entire way - there was not one step that I didn't think "maybe it's time to walk", "I hate running", or "surely it shouldn't be this hard". I tried to slow down, felt like a shuffle, persevered and eventually finished. I came home feeling utterly demoralized and miserable.

It wasn't until I updated my running log later that I realized that I had run the entire thing at just a fraction less than my usual race pace and so MUCH faster than my usual easy (with partner) runs. Which explains why it hurt so much.

So, while I was happy with the time, I now also realize I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA how to pace myself!

    Well Yoda,
There are several reasons for that:

    1.No school today, spring break

    2. Spent the entire post run Easter day lounging about yesterday while DH watched HOURS of March Madness, so I am happy to be moving today.

    3. I have had a sinus headache for 3 days and I woke up this morning and it was gone...

so yep, I was uncharacteristically chipper this am....probably mostly due to number one!

Very windy in Big D today. So I went to the gym and got on the treadmill. I had enough of wind this past weekend.

I always run faster on the treadmill.

I pumped out 6 miles in 60 minutes.

I walk ran 15 min on the treadmill yesterday and 5 min today. I decreased today just because I didn't have time, but at least I got in a little cadence training. I ached for about 30 min after both runs.
