Most of us here in Seattle are pretty good (at least the ones I've heard from). I haven't seen pictures on the news, but I've seen some pretty decent flooding on my commute. My apartment complex has sump pumps going to handle the juicy bits.
Just turned on the TV, and heard that south of Seattle there are 8 feet of water over Interstate 5.

Have heard from most and they are OK---me, Mimi, Teigyr, Eden, Knott (although sounds like the water got close to her apartment).
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
sounds like about 100 families in the state had to be evacuated. this isnt a giant thing like Katrina/New Orleans; just spotty where drains backed up or couldn't handle the water.
We're good, too. There was a gigantic pond in the lower area of the parking lot of our apartment complex and I heard a few of the apartments on that side did get breached but that the damage was minor. The local sanitation company was pretty quick about sending out pumping trucks, so I'm thankful for that.

Things are fine down in Portland. My biggest annoyance is that my cellphone service is down because T-Mobile's datacenter in WA flooded. I think it doesn't affect contract cell users, but because I have a cheap prepaid non-plan I'm without service.![]()
