    Introduction...........

Hi, I've been mtb'ing for about a month now. My bike is not the greatest, but I am loving it! I am 34, married 16 years and have four kids that we homeschool (ages from 15-7). For about three years I have been running and not making much progress. After biking for this last month, I was able to run at a consistent speed for 30 minutes! I know that sounds kind of wimpy, but I was a wimp. My husband rides with me and hopefully, we can get some good equipment for the whole family to ride with us.

    Hello Steph.

Good to have ya on board.

What do ya mean? 30 min runnign sounds like a long time to me. I can't stand running. That's why I'm trying biking - more enjoyable and not so jarring to the body, unless I biff that is.

Have fun on the board. New myself and I've been pelting these folks questions and they've very nicely put up with me Lots of knowledgeable, supportive and patient folks out there.

Look forward to seeing ya around

I think that's why I never made progress, because not only am I on my feet, but on a treadmill...ugh. I love biking, so it doesn't seem like so much work. I only ran because I can't ride today. I have only been getting in one good ride a week and so I have to do something in between so it won't be so hard. I am excited to have found this board because I know so little and need all the help I can get. Plus, there seems to be a shortage of women on the trails and it is encouraging to find that they really do exist.

Wimpy?! Not in the least! I can't run 30 seconds, let alone 30 minutes .

welcome to the board steph. sounds like your having fun and doing great!

your not wimpy with only being able to run for 30 mins. its a lot of work. i remember when i could barely run at all, now i love it. i found that since i've been doing longer rides, my running has improved. i switch between days that i run and ride, and actually done both on the same day.

    keep up the good work!
