I've been shopping around for a road shoe that is Look compatible and is around $100. Yesterday I found a white Giro Sante in a sz 39. It seems to fit, but may be a smidgen long in the toe area. I normally wear a 6.5-7 in a street shoe. When I got home and looked at the size chart it indicated that a 39 is a 7.5. However some reviews mentioned the shoe is running a half size smaller. So I'm wondering if the 39 would be okay, or should I try to hold out for a 38.5?

I've never worn a road shoe so I'm not certain what kind of fit I should have or what I need to be looking for.
