    What to Wear?

    Hi Everyone:
I'm relatively new to the Triathlon world and this community. I have a question about what to wear in a triathlon that i am competing in Oct. 23. I did my first tri in July and wore a singlet and tri shorts (i wore it throughout and put on a wicking shirt over the singlet for the run. In october the water is going to be cold enough for wetsuits--so i'm looking for a wetsuit but am not sure what to wear under it for the bike and run. Should i just wear a sports bar and then put on a bike jersey for the rest of the run? Should i wear a singlet and do like i did last time? Having never worn a wetsuit (in my entire 49 years of life) i have no idea what to do. So many options...Any suggestions would be appreciated....

As long as whatever you wear will shed water well, you can wear it under your wetsuit. Usually that's a sports bra or tri top (more like bathing suit material and close fitting to the skin) on top and tri shorts on bottom. Then, when you get to T1, you can add a jersey or whatever you might need. When it's warm enough outside, the tri top and tri shorts alone work, but if it's chilly adding another shirt is nice.

If your singlet is next to the skin type fit, it might be okay. If you get your wetsuit soon enough you can do a practice swim and try anything you might think of wearing.
