    PT wrap-up

    Well,
my script for PT is up so we met for the last time yesterday to design a take- home program for my transition from PT back to training. They went over all of the stretches and strength training with me and we made a program. I feel like my knee is at about 80%. I am hoping by the end of March, the official month of transition, that I will feel good to go.

One thing that strikes me as strange, is the attitude of the folks at the clinic in terms or training through pain. They are encouraging me to go out and push a bit and not be afraid to hurt. They keep telling me as long as it does not hurt while I am doing the activity that is ok.

I must have been very lucky last season because I was able to train and compete for 10 months without any pain. Now don't get me wrong, it hurt, a lot. There were days I could hardly get up the stairs. But I was not in pain. My joints did not hurt.

So I am very hesitant to train with joints that hurt. So I am going to do the stretches and the weights as perscribed, but find my own way back on the bike and running.

I still have to deal with my elbow. Not sure what to do about that.

But anyway, Bring on the transition!

    Two more sessions

I have two more sessions, scheduled for this week, then I too, will be off on my own. Have almost full range of motion in my shoulder, so will need continue doing my stretches. What really bumms me is that I found out from the PT clinic staff that my GP is heading elsewhere. Katrina strikes again. I don't want to break in a new doc!!! Waaaahhh.

And now that the weather is staying more spring, with brief periods of *winter* AND day light savings time starts this weekend... it'll be time to get back on the bike. I swear my bike tried to trip me this weekend. It wanted to go out to play, instead I loaded the DOG and took her to the park.
    Beth
