Question How do I get these cleats on my Sidi's?

Okay, I had these cleats in the first picture on my Sidis (see second picture of Sidi bottoms) and I want to put the cleats in the third picture on now because I was given some pedals that will work with the cleats and the cleats in the third picture will also clip into the Spin bike at the gym.
Is there a way to make this work?
The distance between the two bolts on the shoe is narrower than the distance of the bolt holes on the cleats in the third picture. Or the new cleats have a wider gap than the bolt holes on the shoes, however this makes sense to you.
Do I need an adapter? What is under the red strip? Is that door #3?
    Do I need a lobotomy

Thanks for your help. I am technically stumped for a second on this one.

Pop out the little red tab. A flat head screwdriver works just fine. You'll see another strip of bolt holes.

Door #3 it is - that is what I assumed, but didn't want to go digging if there wasn't anything there do dig for! Thanks!
