I've searched the forums and didn't find a thread for this product. Let me know if I missed it
So, I ordered the "Sweetest Thing" capri/skirt and also the "Cruiser Bike Girl" skirt. I haven't actually ridden in the Cruiser Bike Girl yet so my review will focus on the Sweetest Thing capris.
Before I start let me say that I am 5'8", about 175 lbs, 31" inseam, smallish waist, big hips/butt.
Firstly, The fit. They look great on me - dare I say, "flattering"? I was worried that it would make my legs look stubby as most capris seem to do on me. I got the XL thinking they would be just a tad snug on me but was pleasantly suprised that they fit fine - I probly could even have gotten away w/ a size L for a more snug fit.
My only complaint is that the rise could be smidge higher. I have never been a fan of the way low rise feels (or looks) around my hips, plus my shorter t-shirts do not cover my hip so I am limited on the shirts I can wear with this skirt (I dont really like to show off my bare muffin tops). Despite the rise, there was no plumber's crack : )
Second, Performance. Non-padded, Great wicking action. It is hot where I live and even though these things are black I didn't feel that they were too hot. Great breathable fabric - it almost feels like I am not wearing them.
I love that I can ride to work in these and just wear them for the rest of the day. It looks cute and doesn't seem like I am wearing "sportswear". Most importantly I don't have to worry about embarassing crotch sweat wetness. The capris are not padded, by the way.
Third, The price. Wellll... I really hate to pay $75 for anything but I suppose the price is in line with other comparable products. Plus, I could not find another company that offers the capri-length short/skirt combo. I splurged and am glad I did. I can see myself getting plenty of use out of these.
In summation: As long as the low rise isn't a deal breaker for you (I wear long tees mostly anyway) then you should give these a try.
Cruiser bike girl (w/ padding) review to come!
