I sent in my registration for the Trek Across Maine for June, 2007...gulp.
It's $50 so this must mean I mean business....
I'm still paying down on the Trek Pilot at my lbs and I hope to have it paid off by February. I bought a bike trainer and in the mean time, I'm going to load up my hybrid Raleigh,(blush),on it just to keep pedaling until then.
I got a 18 mile ride in on Saturday, but since then the weather has become bitter and I've decided to give up riding outside until Spring.
I'm alternately very excited vs very nervous about this Trek thing; but I like having a goal so I'm in and I'm going for it...shudder,squeak...

That's exciting news- go for it! It will definitely be a good incentive to keep in shape all winter.

that's what I'm doing too, Jan. I have a hybrid Raleigh in my trainer. But why are you blushing? that's a good bike!
I'm on the trainer because i'm too much of a wimp to ride in the dark and the cold and the rain of winter.
So come spring, i won't be completely back to square one when I start riding with the gang again.
I like the way you are buying that Trek. THere's a bike I am interested in too, but i won't even go look at it because I'm afraid I'll want it A LOT in person.

Congratulations! I bet you will have a lot of fun on that ride - and with your new Pilot. My Pilot's been very patient with me on the trainer, but she's already itching to get back outside. Well, it'll be March before we know it. Though, at least here today it was upper 60s. Too bad it was a work day. Of course this weekend will be cold again.

    Thanks everyone for the encouragement

It really helps to come here and post about this event. I learn so much just cruising through all the threads. You are all so patient with my queries, I'm really inspired.

    Thanks again,

Is it possible to get more info on the Trek Across Maine in June, 2007? Is it a supported ride....are you going independently??? Can I have a link?

Any and all info would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

It's an American Lung Association 3-day ride / fund-raiser. Info is available at http://www.mainelung.org/bike_treks/home_trek.htm.

    Hi Maureen,
I'm so sorry for my delay in answering; but my internet connection has been down for a week...sob, whine... Apparently the transition from Adelphia to Time Warner isn't going well.
I really have nothing to add to the links that others have thoughtfully included; but wanted to explain my absence here.
Maine in the Summer is beautiful ....if you're thinking of getting out of Florida!!!
