Congrats on your Cross Check! I love mine. Enjoy.
Oh! Count me in! I'd love to come join ya'll. And I promise to show up. Not like my reputation with the other cyclists around here. :\
My favorite quote about trail running (which I, too, do) is: "There are two kinds of trail runners. Those who have fallen, and those who will." I'm in the former group. :p
As for the OP, I'm...
Yeah, but the air conditioning in my office went out. So, while it's low humidity, it's really hot here.
I'd get a couple of 50-55 mile rides in during July - first and 3rd week if the Metric Century is in early August, or second and fourth week if it's later. But you'll be fine, I agree. It's all...
I shave my legs daily. I shave that area daily as well, too, but not totally - I have a strip of hair there. I'm another who cannot stand the feel of stubble. :P
Best post in a long time.
Congrats on your ride! Majorly impressive, especially for a first organized ride!! It did sound scary in parts.
Also congrats on your new editions! They are cutie pies!!!
DD18 and I officially started our training yesterday. We rode 20 miles with about a 1000 foot altitude gain. I haven't been riding for so long and this kicked my booty. :o But, I'll get it back...
I'm in absolute AWE! WAY to go Susan!
What a wonderful story! Thank you so much for sharing. My condolences for your loss. I lost my mom to cancer way too early and I miss her daily.
The views are absolutely incredible aren't they? Yeah, the City by the Bay is pretty hilly. :) Congrats on doing it and surviving the 10,000 other riders, most of whom have no bike handling skills.
Cheering for you Sue!! Following you anxiously on Twitter.
^^ This!! I'm cheering you on!
I think we all kind of shivered in sympathy! Wow! So glad you're okay.
Oh! I see a lot of people who fit that exact description riding around Cupertino without helmets. That is so sad. I hope they figure out who he is.
I'm sorry to hear this. What a sad and senseless thing to happen. I agree that there really should be a law or something that makes negligence such as this punishable. I know she did not...
I lived in Fort Knox Kentucky for a while when my daughter was younger. I did not have a car at the time, so when DH was home to watch my daughter, I would pedal onto the base and use her child's...
Okay, I would never, ever do this, but I'm chuckling at the image of riding with one of the boat horns used on sailboats. Those things are LOUD! (have to be - walkers with iphones have nothing on...
I'm another one who has ridden my Cross Check on everything, including true mountain bike trails. It was fun (a little hairy until I got into it and I missed the suspension, but fun!). I love my...
Several sites stated the same thing. I think a moving violation is different. Leave it to California to be so odd.
In California, you can be arrested for drunk riding, but it's a $250 fine, a possible night in the drunk tank, and can go on your record, but it does not go against your license.
Oh Cool! Thanks! I think it would be a great first ride for her. I'm looking forward to this. :)
Hey you could live in the Bay Area of California. We have hills. We have Mountains and we have flats. We also get wind. I did the LiveStrong 100 mile ride a few years ago and the first 50 miles...
Anyone ride this one? I'm thinking of signing myself and my daughter up for the 60 mile route. It's her first event, and it says it's only 2300 feet of climbing, so it looked like a nice gentle one...
