So sorry to hear about this accident and lack of police response. I have heard to at least respond with "Not sure" if you are asked when calling in on an accident. Always better to be safe. Accident...

Wowser! Do take things slow and maybe check back in with your doctor. I have to be careful, even to the point of how far the dentist tips me back. Too far and the inner ear goes whacko and I have to...
I use a product called, Aqua Mate Swim Suit Cleaner.
I use the Keens Presidio Pedal shoes - all leather, and snow seal 'em. Then I wear smartwool socks, so even if wet my feet stay warm. Winter I bump up my socks to smartwool cross country ski socks....
I have had awesome customer service from them. I had an issue with my XML-3 and no questions asked they sent me a new one with the shipping label to send the broken one back. I love my DiNottes.
On my primary bike I have secure skewers (non-quick release). I use a U-Lock with a Kryptonite cable : Lock the rear wheel to the rack, cable loops around front wheel and to U-lock. A lot of bikes...
Daily commuter here, 6 miles each way. I have 3-4 different routes depending on my mood. I just enjoying riding my bikes, and commuting makes that feasible schedule wise.
Check into some of the clubs listed at OBRA or via some of the LBSs. I believe around here (PDX) things are/have transitioned into CX season. You might see some time trial stuff a bit later.
Sorry to hear you crashed. Wow, I would not have thought there would be that much bike damage from a relatively slow crash. Hope they get you all fixed up.
Have you increased your workouts or mileage? May be simple overuse. You can read this article, http://www.livestrong.com/article/399870-outside-knee-pain-from-cycling/. Outside knee usually indicates...
Get a good U-lock with cable. Some areas of Portland are not bad. Definitely anytime downtown, lock it and take anything loose with you. My son's friend had his bike stolen as it was only locked with...
For my rainy weather/winter lighting I use a Dinotte 300r tailight and the XML-3 headlight. The headlight is like riding in the daylight, which is good as my night vision has decreased over the years...
I do believe most people are nice and mutually respectful. The problem is those few who are not so nice are so darn mean and dangerous about it.
Sad, but unfortunately true. We have had a couple issues like that here in Portland. One where the guy harassed bicyclists regularly. Such angry, dangerous people.
Nice, new bike.
Maybe 1 recommendation? Load your bike with the front wheel on the left. Looks like your exhaust is blowing right at that front wheel.
Enjoy that new bike! :)
Well, I do occassionally use a Garmin, but it is not bike specific, it is an eTrex 30. It's worked out pretty well both on the bike and in the car.
Welcome to TE! Portland has quite a few MTB type orgs and clubs, some have workshops and such to help riders improve.
NW Trails Alliance (http://nw-trail.org/) might be a good starting point.
Welcome to TE, happy birthday and congrats on the new bike.
If you are going to use it for commuting, the first purchase I recommend is a very good lock. My son's friend just had his bike stolen...
Yes, yes, do take care of yourself. Good to hear you are getting some time in on the bike.
+1, apparently they were able to raise $10 million in capital.
In the other thread, Invisible Helmet, the referenced article listed $600.00
Once you have a sense of size, since you are in Portland, be sure to check City Bikes, Community cycling Center, A Better cycle - they all do refurbished bikes. Check craigslist for used. I've...
So, anyone planning on seeing this at the big theater or just wait for the DVD? The early reviews seem positive.
I leash the paddle to the kayak. When I was learning, I was told that is safer as the paddle could get entangled and better to have the paddle affect the kayak than you.
I have to agree with the take a break, keep the bike recommendations. To focus on my newborn son and as he grew, I took a break for 10 some years from being very active on the bike (we are talking...
