I just bought one of those! Dork factor was way high, but i think it helped. DH was starting to eye it after the first hour :D
Wow. I had read that earlier today and missed the wedding! Boys.
Most training programs recommend increasing by 10% each week, so 5/week sounds about right. However, a long ride of 60ish is sufficient, so if you've completed a metric, you're there. Anything above...
I believe most training programs take you up to 65 before a century--so you'll be fine.
I reiterate all of the above about rest stops--stop at each one but make em quick (then you're all stocked up in case you miss a stop--it happens). On my first century, at the last stop, they were...
That was on my shopping list, but never actually rode one. Very cool :)
Welcome!
The beauty of a madone is good shifting, so shift away! I'm still learning my new compact gears, so I shift more than necessary as I search for a comfortable spot. You won't need to...
Wicked cool! Is that a Ruby?
Great pic, possegal! I think they are looking right at you!
Congrats. My 2.1 was a loyal companion :). I love the colors!
First they went from my fav long ride shorts to short rides, then spinning class then after spinning class I realized they needed to go. Denial.
Just saw a Hincapie jersey in Club fit! It was a part of a custom order on sale on the internet. I need 25 bicycle friends and a design!

I was just starting to take myself...

Katy Rail Trail is Missouri is a blast. Much of the trail is rural, but you can stay in St. Louis, Jeff City or Sedalia if you want to be in town. Check out bikekatytrail.com.
It's too hot here...
Yep. Seriously considering purchasing a new car that allow the bikes to be kept inside and LOCKED! Dry would be nice too. And DH thought he was done when he bought the bike for my bday ;)
I also rented a Madone through the Trek Store. Later, I discovered my new LBS does allow the higher end bikes out for multi-day test rides, but charges a little more since it decreases their value. ...
Great pics, Susan :)
This looks fun. Thanks, Knotted
Glad it's not just me :)
Sorry, I forgot! Definitely, ultegra then ;) I love the red! Just be forewarned twin, I may swap out my wheels. I'll keep you posted :D
