We had a 13" TV/DVD combo (from my dorm room days) until last year. The remote no longer worked so we could only watch DVDs that played when we hit play on the front of the unit.... and sometimes...
I haven't been much for commuting lately (below 20F and any amount of wind and I'm usually on the train...) but it was a balmy 35F today so I got a day in while I can. Only saw a couple other bikes...
Ooops, just saw this.... sorry!
I am LOVING this bike!! I haven't had a chance to ride it a ton thanks to work travel and a recent stint in the shop to get the brake hose adjusted (which took a...
More pictures forthcoming once it's really done, but here she is!! (the rear brake line is too long and the shop didn't have the right bleed kit, so no bar tape until that's fixed next week, but I...
Sorry about the stolen bike, but exciting for the Straggler! Are you getting purple? We could be bike-twins :)
Thanks Catrin! I'm excited I get to go visit her tomorrow.... shop is closed today
So...... 2.5 months later, it's finally here! (I didn't realize it'd been quite that long until I dug back to find this thread)
Still at the shop waiting for me to go in and figure out if it needs...
Spoke too soon on that...... my rear brake cable broke (inside the lever, old-school brake only lever) on the way home tonight. Luckily a) only half or so of the strands broke so I had a little power...
Last full commute on the crosscheck today, new frame is here tomorrow (!!!!!!!) and I'll ride the crosscheck in tomorrow to drop it a the shop, but need to pull the rack/fenders/bottle cage/bell/etc...
Of course you need a new bike! (that is the answer you were looking for, right? :) )
I'm really not the person to talk you out of this, since my new frame arrives at the LBS tomorrow.....
I...
You're still a commuter..... you make this commuter jealous with your mid-day rides though :) (plus you can take a day off when the weather's crappy and not have to deal with transit/car either!)

First ride this season with snow. Not sticking yet (and not going to today), and I know plenty of people already have the stuff on the ground, but I'm not sure I'm ready for this yet...
I just rode all the way to work in my small chainring. Clearly I did not drink enough coffee before I left home.
First morning with a hat, too, and my lungs/sinuses are almost clear from my cold...
I have mid-weight Smartwool that I wear for commutes from now until mid-March or so. I might wash it every two weeks (usually 6-8 commute days in the winter, 22mi RT) but never because it smells,...
I prefer a dark commute as well (other than the getting up early part :) ). Overall, I'm pretty comfortable with my setup:
-Front: main light is a Busch & Muller Ixon IQ. Battery powered German...
It seems difficult to find whole milk plain yogurt here as well (that's not $$$) so I'll usually make my own, although I'm not perfect with temp/incubation/etc so it only propagates for a batch or...
Crazy start to the ride home (and a reminder why I really shouldn't leave before 4 until the weather gets crappy and chases all the mid-day trail traffic away), but it was a really nice evening so...
Wow, that is a classy, classy ride! Enjoy!
Chips, especially with smoked paprika or one of the freebie red-pepper-based spice mixes we get from Penzeys. I really like the little hint of heat and the kale stands up well to the flavor.
I...
I feel your pain, Beth.... bike/pedestrian/crew team practice (I ride past our boathouses) traffic has increased so much in the last couple weeks and it's been pretty crazy. I've seen cops out either...
This is good to know :)
Today is the day I officially earned the new bike (good thing, since I ordered it last week...), today is the last work/commute day before 9/15 and I still have two...
This morning was an example of why you run a headlight, even on a fairly well lit MUP.....
I came around a blind corner (always an adventure, had a woman on a bike coming at me on my side of the...
I haven't ridden a touring bike much, but I did test ride both the LHT and Cross Check fairly extensively a couple years ago (no load/rack on either) before I bought my CC. The LHT felt slower/less...
I LOVE those!!!
Most of the trails I use regularly don't really have mileposts, but there are some long sections of fence posts.... and I have a decent selection of scrap yarn.... maybe when I...
It's always a great feeling to get bikes reassembled!! Last time we moved I had the fixie in the back of my car so I had something to placate me, but I was so excited to get the road bike back...
